How do I order from the site?
It is not yet possible to order from the site. However you can browse the full range of products, and select your preferred style on our Order Request Form. We will reply to you by email, to discuss availability, pricing and to make an appointment for fittings.

When is the best time to place my order?
We would always recommend placing your order as early as you can (especially for group wedding parties) in order to avoid disappointment. In the case of weddings we normally recommend booking suits about 3 to 4 months ahead of the wedding date if possible. We can take orders much closer to the function date but this would depend on availability of product at that time. We do however pride ourselves in having the largest selection of styles and sizes in KwaZulu-Natal.

Will Lord Louis have my sizes?
Lord Louis has one of the largest hire ranges of morning wear, evening wear and specialized suits available in KwaZulu-Natal. In the unlikely event that your chosen styles and/or sizes are unavailable for the dates that you have requested we will offer you the nearest available style/size from our ranges.

How do I know that the clothes will be of good quality?
Our extensive range of garments are continually renewed and updated so that we only supply you with new looking and new feeling clothes of the highest quality. All garments are individually checked for signs of wear and tear and damage prior to being collected by you and upon return by you.

When can I try on the garments?
When we call you to discuss your order, a fitting date will be given to you for trying on the garments. This date will allow time for changes to be made in the unlikely situation that the garments ordered don't fit exactly.

How can I be sure that the clothes will fit me?
We are very aware that for many first time customers this is one of the biggest concerns. However it should not be. Our staff have many years of experience in measuring gentlemen for formal clothing. We have extensive try-on stock in our showroom to minimise the amount of tape measure measurements required. It is of course helpful if you look at the labels inside your normal suit jacket, shirt and trousers before visiting us as this will form a starting point when trying on the stock sizes.

Black Tie Events:
When an invitation states black tie or formal, for your peace of mind book around 2-3 weeks in advance. In the event of a late invitation we can help, our store is stocked in all ranges and sizes of formal wear and we can assist you with urgent and immediate hire.

School Functions:
Matric dances and debutante balls are one of the highlights of the school calendar, so it pays to book as far in advance as you can, ideally 3-6 weeks, to ensure you have the best selection to choose from. This is an occasion where you can make the most of all of the accessories that we have to give yourself something different.

How do I place an order?
If you come directly to our showroom, our staff will be delighted to assist you through the hire process. It is advisable to call and book an appointment in advance, especially on busy Saturdays. Alternatively, fill in the online Order Request Form, and we will contact you to set up an appointment for a fitting.

Can I extend the normal period of hire?
Yes, we recognize that some customers want to keep their outfits for longer periods for instances such as a wedding in another province or abroad. Please ask us about extended hire fees for your specific requirements.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
When you reserve an outfit, a security/reservation deposit of R100 or R200 per suit - depending on the style or colour of suit - is required to secure and confirm your reservations. The balance of hire costs are then only due at collection of the suits. The deposit is refundable upon return of all hired garments to us, in good order, after your function.

What discounts do you offer?
We do offer promotional discounts from time to time. Please ask any member of staff at our showroom. If we have a current special, we will generally tell you about it at the time of your call or visit, or when we contact you via email.

How can I make payment?
We accept payment by cash or credit/debit card in our store. Payments offsite can be made by direct deposit to our bank account, or by electronic funds transfer via the internet. Our banking details are available on request. Payment should only be made after we have confirmed availability of your preferred suit/s and sizes.

Do you alter any of the garments?
We are not a made to measure service, however we believe our size range will cater for the vast majority of the population. However, we do make minor alterations, these being generally restricted to trouser lengths and jacket sleeve length. More major alterations can be done in special cases, please enquire about this if necessary.

What age do children’s sizes start from?
We have children’s suits suitable for age 4 years and upwards. However, it is difficult to clarify an age range for children’s products as all children grow at different rates. It is best to get the child concerned measured at our showroom to check for size and style availability.

What are your prices?
Current basic hire prices for adults range from R175 to R450 (excluding VAT) per suit ie for jacket and trousers only, depending on suit style selected. We have many suit styles and in some cases also different ranges within the same style available.

Do you sell items as well as hire them?
We do not currently have items for sale, and work on a hire basis only. Should you wish to purchase a suit, we can suggest a supplier, or possibly obtain a suit for you at a competitive price.

When can I collect my outfit and when does it need to be returned?
The normal hire period covers 3 business days. Sundays and Public Holidays are not counted as business days. For weekend weddings, for example, collection would normally be from 14:00 on Friday and return by 10:00 on Monday. If you require your outfits to be collected before this date or need to return them after the agreed date, please ask us about extended hire options. If the function is out of town, for example in the Drakensberg, we allow an extra day at no extra cost.

What happens if I do not return the goods by the agreed date?
Failure to return garments by the agreed date will result in a 15% per day extended hire charge.

What happens if I want to cancel or amend the order?
Amendments to the order will depend on availability at the time that the ammendment is requested. Cancellation fees may apply, depending on when the cancellation is made. Call us for advice.

What happens if I damage the garments?
In the unfortunate event of damage to any hire item you will be required to pay a full retail replacement charge as set by Lord Louis.

What happens if I lose a garment?
In the unfortunate event of loss to any hire item, you will be required to pay a full retail replacement charge as set by Lord Louis.
